Basic substance to be diluted in water in a diffuser attractant trap, for the mass capture of females and males of the olive fruit fly Dacus (Bactrocera) oleae + 1 wire hanger, with a duration of 60 days in normal field conditions.

Bottle-shaped disposable trap with 4 holes to allow the target insects to enter, mainly the olive fruit fly Bractocera oleae

The trap includes 20 g of the basic substance diammonium phosphate, to be used as a kairomonal or food attractant, in powder to be diluted in water.  The trap contains a wire hanger to suspend from a branch.

NOTE: COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING (EU) REGULATION 2016/548 FROM THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION.

RECOMMENDED USE

Take the bottle cap off, add 500 ml of water (up to the level indicated on the lower label), close the cap again, remove the upper label to free the holes and hang from a branch in the sunny part of the tree at a height of 1.5 to 2 metres. Refill the bottle if more than 1/3 of water evaporates.

APPLICATIONS OR CROPS DESTINATION

Olive trees.

MASS CAPTURES

In accordance with the Commission Implementing (EU) Regulation 2016/548 from the European Commission, install 1 trap per tree and up to a maximum of 100 traps per hectare.  For example, for mass captures between 20 and 100 traps should be installed per hectare, according to location and uniformity of the plots.

Install the traps as soon as the first adults of Bactrocera oleae are detected. The traps should be placed on the South-facing side of the trees at a height of 1.5 to 2 metres.

In the case of plots bordering with others that have a high level of damage, it is recommended to reinforce the borders by placing a barrier of traps between 5 and 10 metres apart, as seen in the image:
