Dacus (bactrocera) oleae is a dipteran that feeds on the pulp of the olive fruit. It is considered the most important pest of the olive tree since it affects the quantity and quality of the growing areas.
With the DACUSNEX® COMBI 90 DAYS attractant diffuser, males and females of the olive fly are attracted. It lasts in the field for 90 days.
TIME OF EMPLOYMENT:
The insect has 2 to 3 annual generations depending on climatic conditions. Adults of the first generation appear in March or April, and maximum flight intensity is observed in July and October. For the correct treatment of Dacus (Bactrocera) oleae, monitoring the pest with the use of the DACUSNEX® COMBI 90 DAYS attractant diffuser is recommended to detect in time the moment to start controlling the insect.
APPLICATION:
For detection and monitoring we will use 1 to 2 traps per hectare, placed on the south side of the olive trees and at a height of 1.5 to 2 meters. The traps will be placed 3 months before collection. To carry out exhaustive monitoring, the number of traps per surface is increased, depending on the situation and homogeneity of the plots.
DIFFUSER OPERATION:
DACUSNEX® COMBI 90 DAYS is a blister-shaped diffuser, and is individually packaged in an aluminum envelope with specifications label. Once removed from the container, the diffuser does not need any activation operation, just be properly placed in the trap.
STORAGE OF THE DIFFUSERS:
The diffusers should be kept in their original packaging and in a refrigerator at 4°C; or in the freezer at -18 OC, in which case they will remain valid for 2 and 4 years respectively, away from food and drinks.
