VELUTINATRAP®

The VELUTINATRAP® trap is specially designed for the capture of the Vespa velutina species and other species of wasps.  It should be filled with the specific attractant VELUTINATRAP® attractant (not included).

VELUTINATRAP® is a funnel trap made of plastic polymer that is resistant to UV rays.  

The trap consists of a yellow funnel, green lid and transparent base that attaches to the funnel with a bayonet lock.  Inside the base there is a device to stop the captured wasps from touching the attractant.  The trap is provided with a hanger to be able to hang it.

USE:

1.      Pour the contents of a bottle of VELUTINATRAP® ATTRACTANT (250ml) into the base of the trap.
2.      Assemble the trap following the indicated assembly instructions.
3.      Hang the trap in a suitable location, usually from trees on the borders of forests, close to grasslands and near to rivers or lakes.
4.      Check the trap regularly.  Change the attractant every 60 days or if the trap is full of water.

CROPS AND USE:

Any area where the invasive species is thought to live.

DETECTION AND MONITORING:

The user can change the number of traps according to necessity and characteristics of the area.

PERIOD OF USE:

The traps should be active all year round, although they are especially useful in Spring and Summer.
